to those of you who want to answer this saying the economic mess is only because of people who bought too much house, I will point out a few things:  record budget deficits, record trade deficits, the crashing dollar, declining real wages, record consistently high gas prices, unaffordably high health care costs, loss of 15% of our manufacturing/outsourcing of jobs overseas, local gvts laying off employees and cutting back services dues to loss of property tax revenue, record foreclosures, etc...  and much much more.

My question again is...is whether the media in reporting on these situations is actually making the connection on how actions or inactions of the USA govt have contributed or even caused the meltdown.
