Landlord's
Tip of the Week
Advertising an available rental property
can be expensive. Most major daily news papers charge $35 to over
$100 for even the smallest of ads. While these ads can produce a
"ton" of prospective renters, the quality is often suspect.
Referrals, on the other hand, are often
better in quality and can be a lot less expensive to get. Often,
when a tenant is getting ready to move they will ask their friends and
associates if they know of a nice place.
Position yourself to take advantage of
this by printing up some business cards that say something like:
I Rent Nice Homes & Apartments
and I Pay $50 for Each Referral Who Rents One of My Properties.
Be certain to give a few cards to each of
your current tenants and post them where to can. Bulletin boards
in local factories or local banks etc.
This concept can be taken even further
by adding this line to all of your communications. Most word processing
programs these days include the ability to add a "header" or "footer" to
your letters. Add the above line or anything similar to all your letters.
What better way to use a computer to make more money for your rental property
business. |
